Introduction To Chord Melody For Ukulele

Alternating Wednesdays from 7:30 - 9:00 pm ET
Jan 14 - Mar 25 (6 weeks)
On Zoom

$175 CDN

“Chord melody” is a way of creating solo arrangements by playing the melody and the chords for a song simultaneously. In this class we will learn basic chord melody techniques and explore a variety of ways to create solo ukulele arrangements.  You will come away with the skills to be able to create your own chord melody arrangements of songs you know and love. This class assumes you have previous experience playing ukulele (see below). You should also have some experience reading tablature and/or standard music notation.* The class will be taught in C tuning (GCEA).

This class is conducted online using Zoom. Once you have paid and registered, you will receive information about how to log in each week.

You will be provided with song sheets and other materials for taking the course. You will need to supply your own ukulele and be able to tune it to standard C tuning.

IMPORTANT: About the skill level needed for this class:
This class assumes you already have intermediate-level playing experience. This means you are comfortable playing 3-4 chords in 3-4 keys (C, G, F, A). You can play a variety of basic chords (for example: A, Am, B7, C, C7, D, Dm, E7, Em, G, and G7). You can sing and strum at the same time, and that you have a fair number of songs that you are comfortable playing. It also assumes you have some experience reading tablature and/or music notation for ukulele.*

This class is now full with a waiting list. Please contact me if you would like to be put on the waiting list.
