Ukulele Start Up

This class for new ukulele players will give you the basics you need for a lifetime of ukulele happiness. Starting with playing your first chords, we’ll work on learning basic strums and accompaniment skills. We’ll develop some strategies for smoothing out chord changes and keeping a solid rhythm, start picking out a few simple melodies, and we’ll learn how to read song sheets and chord charts. By the end of the class you will have some skills that you can take with you wherever you go on your ukulele journey. No previous ukulele or music experience required! This class will be taught in C tuning (GCEA).
The class will be conducted on Zoom. Once you have paid and registered, you will receive information about how to log in each week, and those who need help accessing the technology will be offered resources and orientation to the platform.
You will be provided with song sheets and other materials for taking the course, and all classes will be recorded and posted for you to review later. You will need to supply your own ukulele.
