Eve's first album features twelve songs from Eve’s repertoire which range in style from bluegrass to swing to blues to contemporary folk. Centred around her voice and guitar, the album includes a capella numbers, songs with small string-band back-ing, and songs with full band accompaniment. In addition to her original songs, Eve selected songs by some of her favourite musicians, including Bessie Smith, Kate Wolf, Cathy Fink, Mississippi John Hurt, John McCutcheon, Jean Ritchie, and Shelley Posen. Her tune “Watermelon Sorbet” was the opening theme to the national CBC radio show “Richardson’s Roundup" for many years. Produced by Bill Garrett, with guests Frank Barth, Cindy Church, Chris Coole, Al Cross, Bill Garrett, Randy Kempf, Ellen Long, Arnie Naiman, Dennis Pendrith, Mose Scarlett, Kelly Walsh, Rick Whitelaw, Chris Whiteley, Dan Whiteley and Ken Whiteley.
